QUICK TIP: Consider Wearing a Watch

Every home you clean regularly needs a specific routine to maximize results. By wearing an inexpensive water-resistant wristwatch, you can track time at a glance and know if your pace is right on, ahead, or behind schedule; information you need to make detail-cleaning judgement calls.

As you develop a routine for each home, it’s important to set time goals. Determine how long you’ll allot in total for each level of the home, as well as each big task such as the master bathroom, vacuuming, etc. Wearing a watch keeps the element of time always a consideration as you go about the routine.

I use a wristwatch instead of my cell phone for two reasons: first (due to radiation unknowns) I keep my cell in a Ziploc-style baggie on my caddy so it’s nearby but not on my body, and second, checking the phone adds time and hassle… and I hate hassle.
